On September 10 and 11, 2012, the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre, together with co-organisers Global Philanthropy Forum, Community Foundation of Singapore and the Resource Alliance, successfully held its inaugural Philanthropy In Asia Summit (PIA2012) under the theme of "A Generation of Transformation". As the first-ever non-profit driven philanthropy event in Asia, PIA brought together 190 of the region's top philanthropists, grant-makers and thought-leaders to Singapore. They engaged in peer-led discourse, networking and experience-sharing of philanthropy best practices. PIA2012's success affirms that there is a deep interest among philanthropists to harness the collective good of giving in Asia for greater impact to our communities.
